Franklin Square Kiwanis Club paints for a cause

About 30 Franklin Square residents spent nearly three hours painting pictures for St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital in Bayside, Queens on Feb. 6, at the Kiwanis Club of Franklin Square’s inaugural Paint Night.

“For our first time doing it, it went very, very well,” said John Costello, the Kiwanis Club president. “People were very relaxed and had a good time.”

They were able to create two pieces of art — one for themselves, and another that could be donated to the children’s hospital. The $25 they spent on admission, meanwhile, would benefit the Franklin Square community.

“It’s a lot of fun,” Costello said of the event, “and it’s for a good cause.”
