Roll out the red carpet for literacy

Leo F. Giblyn School students and their families, in the Freeport School District, celebrated literacy by attending a Roll Out the Red Carpet for Literacy event.

While the students attended Parents as Reading Partners (PARP) Storytime with teachers, their parents attended a Parent University focused on the importance of literacy. During the sessions, they learned how to support their child's literacy learning at home. In addition, they attended a session where they learned how to help reduce their child’s stress and anxiety. This all coincided with Spirit Week at Giblyn, where students arrived in their fanciest clothes with their favorite books to walk the red carpet.
