DRS Mock trial team wins; Goldstein a Merit finalist

Posted

In the first competition of the season the mock trial team from Davis Renov Stahler Yeshiva High School for Boys in Woodmere defeated East Rockaway High School in a heated legal debate.

Weekly practices and a devotion to learning the skills needed to win helped lawyers Dovi Schlossberg, Sruli Fruchter and Jonathan Crane prevail. Shlomo Schwartz, Mishah Aryeh and Josh Samet performed as witnesses for the plaintiff in the case.

The victory gave the team a berth in the Nassau County Mock Trial elimination rounds. Lawyers Nathan Peyman, Yosef Kaminetsky and Benyamin Bortz. Joseph Greenberg, Jonah Loskove and Alex Herman were the witnesses for the defense in a win over Freeport High School.

Advancing all the way to the Nassau County finals is the goal of a mock trial team that appears to be able to perform well on either side of the legal aisle
