Covid-19 antibody testing available in Freeport

Posted

Covid-19 antibody testing will be available at the Long Island Federally Qualified Health Clinics in Freeport, Elmont, Hempstead and Westbury starting on June 2.

The antibody tests are authorized by the Food and Drug Administration, and have a high degree of reliability. The presence of Covid-19 antibodies in one's system is an indication that a person was probably exposed to the virus, even if he or she did not have any symptoms, and that he or she may have some degree of immunity to the virus, although this is not proven yet.

Testing will be available by appointment only for new and established patients, and will take place only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Freeport LIFQHC is located at 101 South Bergen Pl., behind the Freeport Memorial Library parking lot.

To make an appointment, or for more information, call 516-396-7500.
