Gural JCC's Russian division to offer virtual summer programs

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Russian division of the Marion & Aaron Gural JCC in Cedarhurst will be holding virtual children’s events throughout the summer.

The programs include a Russian language class for children ages four and up. There will be six classes beginning on July 7 and they will go from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The price of the classes are $15 per class.

An art and drawing class for children ages four and up will also begin on July 7. There will be six classes. Children will be placed in groups based on age.

A beginners and advanced chess class for children ages six and up will each begin on July 8. Children will be placed in groups based on experience. The classes will cost $20 each.

The “Curious World” program for children seven and up starts on July 9. Yulia Gross, the Gural JCC’s Russian Division Children's Programming Director, called this the perfect program for curious children. “Children will discover many interesting facts about the world we live in through fun games, rhythmic tasks and scientific experiments,” she said. The program will be $15 per class.

A virtual art workshop taught by artist Natasha Potyomkin will be held bi-weekly on Monday’s at 4:30 p.m. beginning on July 6.
