Henrietta Wallace, 93

Woodmere resident for 91 years

Whether Henrietta Wallace was walking her beloved dog Petey along Broadway in Woodmere or visiting residents in the Woodmere Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, she was impeccably dressed and always had a kind word for everyone.
Wallace, who lived in Woodmere for 91 years, died at home on Oct. 13, surrounded by her family.
Born on Feb. 1 1922, Wallace never stopped being active as she loved to go to the beach, outdoor concerts and take part in exercise classes, said her daughter, Sharon Rossano. A member of the Center for Adult Life Enrichment in Hewlett, Wallace excelled at watercolor painting, writing and singing.
“She was always on the go and looking her best,” Rossano said. “Never one to say an unkind words to anyone, she was loved by all.”
Wallace was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael. She is survived by son Michael (Rita), daughter Anne (tom), daughter Sharon (Mike), son Thomas (Migadalia) as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Petey also predeceased Wallace.
A service was held at the Perry Funeral Home in Lynbrook on Oct. 20. Interment was at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon.
“Henrietta believed in love, family, living life, thinking positively and keeping active and healthy,” Rossano said. “Her generosity and kind heart knew no bounds. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed.”
