After a car stop in Cedarhurst, Nassau County police arrested an Inwood resident for possession of a firearm at 7:25 p.m. on April 19, police said.

Police reported that two men had what was described as a “loud verbal argument” as they stood in the roadway by Rockaway Turnpike and Westminster Road. Then one of the men walked to his 2008 BMW that had dark tinted window, police said, and appeared to be leaving.

When officers approached the car, the man was reaching towards the back and glove apartment area, according to police. The subsequent investigation uncovered a gun in the glove compartment. Caleek Killingbeck, 21, of Lord Avenue, was arrested.

Killingbeck is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, disorderly conduct and a vehicle and traffic violation. Arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on April 20, he is represented by the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County. Killingbeck’s next court is April 22. He was released with non-monetary restrictions.
