Lynbrook police, fire departments respond to overturned vehicle

Lynbrook firefighters and police officers responded to a car accident and overturned vehicle at the intersection of Merrick Road and Ocean Avenue on Oct. 17. 

Under the command of Chief Michael Brooks, firefighters responded with an extrication team and the Emergency Medical Company, as well as an ambulance from North Shore University Hospital. A bystander helped get the couple in the overturned SUV out of their vehicle. 

Lynbrook police closed down the roadway while paramedics supplied medical aid to the couple. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured. 

The couple was transported in the department’s Emergency Medical Company ambulance and an ambulance from North Shore to Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital in Oceanside.. They were not seriously injured.
