Man allegedly robbed in Lawrence on Burnside Avenue

A 49-year-old walking to his car was allegedly pushed to the ground by two men who then reached into his pants pocket and took out an envelope containing an unspecified amount of money on Burnside Avenue near Washington Place in Lawrence on May 28 at 11 p.m., police said.

One of the men also allegedly pointed an unknown object at the man’s back and stole his wallet, according to police. The man was not injured.

The alleged assailants are described as tall, ranging in age from 20 to 30 and wore dark clothes. One of the men was wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477 or 911. All calls are confidential. There is up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
