Nassau police investigating $16,000 Cedarhurst jewelry heist

A man and a woman walked into the Jewelry Showroom on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst and allgedly stole $16,000 in merchandise at 1:10 p.m. on March 1, Nassau police said.

With another man acting as a lookout outside the store, the woman distracted an employee and the inside man allgedly stole four diamond rings valued at $9,000 and one diamond bracelet valued at $7,000. All three took off on foot and headed east on Central Avenue towards Columbia Avenue.

One man is described as Hispanic wearing a black winter cap, a red jacket, black pants, white sneakers and a black facemask.

The woman is described as Hispanic wearing a navy blue jacket, blue jeans, black sneakers and a black facemask.

The other man is described as  Hispanic wearing a green jacket and black pants.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 244-8477. All calls are confidential.
