Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom members help with Hannah’s Project at Gural JCC

The Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom recently completed the collection of items for Hannah’s Project. Sisterhood members will be delivering the items — feminine hygiene products for women and at-risk teens in shelters, soup kitchens and pantries  — three places, including the Marion & Aaron Gural JCC in Cedarhurst on Jan. 13.

Collection bins were placed in synagogues, and mosques. The Sisterhood aims to foster a relationship between the Jewish and Muslim religions. Hannah’s Project raises awareness for the need of feminine hygiene products that are not covered by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Items will also be delivered to Momma’s House in Wantagh and Domestic Harmony Foundation in Hempstead.

Sisterhood members are from the Five Towns and surrounding communities, including Malverne, Rockville Centre and Queens.
