Kids and teens from all over Franklin Square, Garden City and Valley Stream flocked to Rath Park last week for the 15th season of the Town of Hempstead’s Lacrosse Academy. As part of the academy, kids met with four-time U.S. Lacrosse National Team Player and Hall of Famer Vinnie Sombrotto.

Local officials, such as Town Receiver of Taxes Don Clavin, Town Councilmen Bruce Blakeman and Tom Muscarella were also present to cheer on the young athletes and offer their own advice.

The TOHLA was founded about 12 years ago to help build skills and confidence among young lacrosse players in the town by connecting them with like-minded peers and training under Long Island’s best high school and college coaches. The TOHLA clinic are open to all young athletes ages five to 15.
