Police arrest three in connection with March robbery in East Meadow

Police arrested three men in connection with a robbery that happened in East Meadow on March 21. On April 18, James Stack, 38, of Hempstead was arrested for the robbery and, on May 1, Kenneth Amblo, 47, of Hicksville and Daniel Jacobs, 40, of Plainview, were also arrested. They are facing similar charges as well as two counts of fourth degree grand larceny.

A man entered the People’s United Bank in Stop & Shop in East Meadow on March 21 at 4.22 p.m. and approached the teller with a note demanding money. The teller complied and the subject left the scene, heading south, with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, in his 40’s, who is roughly five foot and six or seven inches tall and 190 pounds. He has black hair, a black and white full beard and a medium complexion.

The man was wearing a light blue knit cap with the white “National Grid” logo, a navy blue ski jacket, a navy blue hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

There were two employees inside the bank and no customers at the time of the robbery. There were no reported injuries.

Stack will be arraigned on June 24 at the Town of Hempstead First District Court and Amblo and Jacobs will be arraigned on May 1.
