An Elmont man is alleged to have robbed two gas stations within a few hours on two days in July, Nassau police said.
On July 28 at 11:38 p.m., a man entered a Bolla Mart Gas Station on Peninsula Boulevard in Hempstead and approached a male employee demanding money stating he had a gun, according to police. The employee in fear for his safety complied and the man then left.
On July 29 at 2:37 a.m., a man entered the Atlantic Gas Station on N. Corona Avenue in Valley Stream and walked behind the counter brandishing a knife demanding cash, police said. The employee there also feared for his safety and complied. The man then left.
After the subsequent investigation, police arrested Christian Antonio Sepulveda Silva, 43, of Benson Avenue, on Nov. 6. He is charged with two counts of robbery. Silva was found to entered the country through the Visa Waiver Program in November 2023.
He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 7.
