The Long Island Nets hosted their annual Education Day game at Nassau Coliseum Feb. 11. Here are the details:
Each year, the LI Nets host an Education Day game for students across Long Island, when the Nets bring STEM education with basketball together, infusing curriculum geared toward elementary, middle and high school students throughout the game.
Students from 55 local schools across Nassau and Suffolk Counties attended this year’s experiential field trip, with the most students attending from Westbury Middle School (350).
During the game, students participate in a variety of hands-on learning activities, including completing an educational work packet with lessons that relate back to basketball, created and distributed by the LI Nets.
