Nassau County to reopen its owned and operated golf courses

After closing its owned and operated golf courses on March 23, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran said the courses and driving ranges will reopen on March 26.

Curran said there will more space between tee times and only one person to a golf cart. Reservationss will be taken online only, go to nassaucountynny.gov/1779/Golf.

The courses were intially closed to aid in halting the spread of the coronavirus known as COVID-19.

County officials said they are working closely with the state during the coronavirus outbreak. It is highly recommended that everyone practices social distancing, at least six feet apart, and avoid playgrounds. County parks remain open for hikes, runs and walks, and other informal recreational activities.

In the Five Towns, North Woodmere Park’s 9-hole golf course , along with courses at Bay Park on the South Shore in East Rockaway, Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, Cantiague Park in Hicksville and Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn-North Hills, will reopen.
