The Halal Guys, Robert's Hair Salon and Jag-One Physical Therapy all celebrated their beginnings in East Meadow on Oct. 28 when the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce welcomed heir grand openings with ribbon cuttings and certifications.

Robert's Hair Salon recently opened at 2068 Front St. in East Meadow. They specialize in all men’s haircuts, hot towel shaves, royal shaves and facials in any style.

The Halal Guys opened its first location in Nassau County when it came to East Meadow this fall, opening at 2565 Hempstead Tpke. What began as a New York City hot dog cart in 1990 became a world-renowned international restaurant chain.

The three founding partners opened the hot dog cart on West 53rd & 6th Avenue in New York City and their business grew as more and more Muslim cab drivers were looking for a halal food meal. After 25 years, they had five carts, two Manhattan restaurants and a growing fan base.

Jag-One Physical Therapy recently acquired is Life Physical Therapy and Wellness at 2555 Hempstead Tpke. in East Meadow. Life Physical Therapy and Wellness has been in East Meadow for 32 years before becoming the first Jag-One Physical Therapy on long Island.

“It’s the same location and same staff, but we have the support, collaboratively, of therapists across the area to better treat our patients,” said clinical director Janet Ottaiano.

JAG-ONE Physical Therapy is a comprehensive outpatient physical and occupational therapy company that provides rehabilitative care for general orthopedic, sports and soft tissue injuries, Workers’ Compensation cases and Medicare patients. It’s also the official therapy provider for the Yankees Staten Island, New Jersey Devils, New York City Football Club and Columbia Athletics, among other groups.
