A long-awaited return to school for East Meadow students

Posted

The East Meadow School District welcomed back students to their nine buildings during the week of Sept. 8 for the first time since March, kicking off the 2020-2021 school year.

East Meadow has adopted a hybrid-learning model for grades 3-12, with cohorts of in-person students alternating between in-person and distance learning. One group of students attended in-person instruction beginning on Sept. 8, and the other on Sept. 10.

Superintendent Kenneth Card Jr., Dave Casamento, the assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction and other members of central administration and the board of education visited the district’s elementary, middle and high schools to extend their good wishes to each group of students for the upcoming year.
