Sewanhaka High School is closed on Nov. 23, to give district officials time to thoroughly clean and disinfect the building, after a student tested positive for the coronavirus, Superintendent James Grossane announced over the weekend.

The Nassau County Health Department has already completed its contact tracing, he said, and students will learn remotely at this time. Additionally, Grossane said, any student who attends the district's Career and Technical Education program at Sewanhaka must remain at their home school, where they would participate in CTE classes remotely.
