Sea Cliff salutes heroes responsibly

Despite a gloomy, overcast sky overhead, several Sea Cliff residents made their way to Clifton Park on the morning of May 25 to honor members of the United States military who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Following social distancing guidelines of non-family members staying at least six feet apart from one another, they listened to Memorial Day speeches from Sea Cliff Mayor Edward Lieberman as well as Phil Como, commander of the James F. Brengel American Legion. Both speakers stood next to the Memorial Rock, which shows the names of Sea Cliff residents who served during World War I, and spoke on the importance of remembering those who died in service to the United States.

Even through their masks, attendees sang songs of remembrance and saluted their heroes, showing that even a pandemic cannot stop Sea Cliff from celebrating Memorial Day responsibly.
