Nassau County 's Department of Public Works confirmed the beginning of a road resurfacing project on Westbury Boulevard/Meadow Street in Uniondale and Garden City.
The work will span the section of roadway between Oak Street and Charles Lindbergh Boulevard. The project is expected to improve the quality and safety of this heavily traveled route, which is vital for daily commuters, local businesses and residents.
Newly elected County Legislator Olena Nicks emphasized the importance of maintaining local roads for public safety and convenience.
“Each day, countless Nassau County motorists rely upon Westbury Boulevard/Meadow Street during their daily commutes,” she said in a news release. “Keeping our county roads in a state of good repair enhances community safety and our overall quality of life.”
Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly, as there may be disruptions to traffic flow during the duration of the project. Nicks urged residents to remain patient as the essential upgrades are completed.
