The Oceanside and Island Park communities came out in force once again to honor their fallen heroes and celebrate veterans at the 2022 Memorial Day parade. The Oceanside parade kicked off Mon. May 30 at the schoolhouse green on Foxhurst Road and marched through the local streets to the high school. It was followed by a ceremony at the high school where Vietnam veteran Barry Lederman spoke.
The Island park parade took place Sat. May 28 staring at the village parking field adjacent to village hall. Organizations, scouts, sports teams, youth organizations, and schools marched through the village
