Police arrest man for robbery in Bellmore

The Nassau County Police Department arrested a Bellmore resident for a June 22 robbery that occurred in Bellmore at 4:40 p.m. 

According to NCPD Robbery Squad detectives, a man entered Keezac Pharmacy, located at 111 Bedford Ave., and threatened a female employee with a box cutter. He placed it to the employee's neck and demanded prescription pain medication. 

The employee was able to escape and fled the store.  The store manager complied and the male fled the scene with an unknown amount of medication.

Responding officers located the man a short time later near the intersection of Newbridge Road and Oak Street. Patrick Devine, 33, of 33 Croydon Drive, was arrested.

The female employee had a laceration on her right hand and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Devine is charged with five counts of first degree robbery, second degree robbery, second degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.  He will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 23 in Mineola.
