The seniors at East Rockaway High School earned the coveted Cup last weekend during the school's 74th annual Rock Rivalry competition. Points were tallied and included Sports Night, Entrance, mural, backdrop, scriptwriting, choreography, band, lighting, sound, etc. The seniors' score tied for one other class in the history of RR for having the most points in its 74-year history. All of the classes did wonderfully, with entertaining and orginal skits and songs. more

Angel Nunez, a 6-8 forward born in the Dominican Republic and raised in The Bronx, is one of those who tried out for basketball's G League hoping to turn his dreams into NBA reality. The newest addition to the National Lacrosse League will be calling Long Island home but for one member of the New York Riptide, coming to Long Island is more of a homecoming. Kieran McArdle grew up in Ronkonkoma in Suffolk County, about 32 miles east of Riptide’s new home at the Nassau Coliseum. more
