Members of New York Elks Lodge #1 attended the Lynbrook School Board meeting at Lynbrook High School on March 12, to present Superintendent Paul J. Lynch with a Certificate of Appreciation for his support of the Lodge's Hoop Shoot program. Elks Hoop Shoot Chair PDD John Nuzzi and other members were present to honor Lynch for his contributions. Lynbrook Schools Athletic Director Joseph Martillotti also played a key role in facilitating the event, allowing the Elks to use one of the district’s schools for the second consecutive year. Martillotti's certificate will be presented to him by the Superintendent.
The Lodge’s Hoop Shoot Committee was involved in events this year that impacted 300 children. One participant, Denys, advanced to the New York State competition, where he placed third in his category in his first appearance at the state level. Denys competed against past champion shooters.
