Teen charged for allegedly pointing BB gun at car during road rage incident in East Rockaway

A teenager was arrested in East Rockaway on Saturday after allegedly pointing a BB gun at an adult and two children during a road rage incident.

According to Nassau County Police Department detectives, two drivers were involved in an incident near Forest and Centre avenues.  A 17-year-old male then allegedly pointed a black colored imitation firearm at three people in another car, who were 53, 14 and 13.

The incident put them in fear of their safety. Subsequent to the investigation, officers located the teen on First Avenue and placed him into custody without incident. 

Recovered at the scene was a black colored BB gun. No injuries were reported.

The teen was charged with second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.  He was released on an appearance ticket and is due to return to Nassau County Family Court on June 10.
