In a way to show their appreciation, members of the Long Beach Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1384 delivered pizza to several first responders throughout the week.
VFW Post 1384 Commander Dan McPhee said that he and a group of VFW Post 1384 members have delivered pizzas to workers at the Mount Sinai South Nassau emergency room in Long Beach on March 25 and to the Long Beach Police Department that next day.
The group held up “thank you” signs and also banged pots and pans to bring soon joy to the first responders, McPhee said. He added that they would try and visit other locations in the next coming days.
