Malverne’s Crossroads Farm at Grossman's held a benefit dinner and fundraiser on Sept. 10 to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The farm, which is owned by Nassau County and operated by a volunteer board of directors and volunteer workers through a partnership with the county, cooked and served its own produce, certified as organic by the state and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York.

"For over 10 years, Crossroads Farm at Grossman's has provided Long Island residents with an educational destination to volunteer and support local, organic farming efforts," said Nassau County Legislator Bill Gaylor, referring to Crossroads Farm’s commitment to sustainable agricultural principles that its volunteers are taught.

Gaylor, whose district includes Malverne, called the farm a “Malverne staple.”
