Sacred Heart Academy senior Caitlin Griffin recently earned two significant leadership awards: the Adelphi University Prize for Leadership and the New York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Award.
Griffin was one of 11 high school students to earn the Adelphi University Prize for Leadership. The other 10 students were from Garden City High School.
Each year, the Adelphi University Prize for Leadership is awarded to high school juniors who are residents of Garden City to recognize them for their exceptional academic achievement and community service. The recipients of this award receive:
An award of $1,000 and an inscribed award.
Two tuition-free courses at Adelphi University.

Adelphi University library privileges.
An invitation to attend a dinner in honor of a leading scholar, artist or political figure who is visiting Adelphi during the 2019-20 academic year.
Griffin was nominated for the New York State Senate Youth Leadership Recognition Award by the Sacred Heart Academy guidance office. She was honored by State Sen. Kevin Thomas with a certificate for her exceptional academic accomplishments and leadership skills.
