ColtFest canceled at Sanford H. Calhoun in Merrick

Sanford H. Calhoun High School in Merrick has canceled this weekend's ColtFest, the festival associated with the homecoming weekend football game. Heavy rains and winds are predicted to effect Nassau County tomorrow, leading to the cancelation. 

Even though the rain put a damper on Saturday's activities, the Calhoun Colts will still play tomorrow at 2 p.m. 

ColtfFest unfortunately will not be rescheduled. 

There's two more homecoming weekends ahead for Bellmore-Merrick's high schools. John F. Kennedy High School's is slated for Sept. 30, and Wellington C. Mepham's is slated for Oct. 7.
