Spring sprouts at the Island Park Library

Spring officially sprung — and sprouted — outside the Island Park Public Library on Saturday as the facility hosted an outdoor flower planting event.

In celebration of the season, guests were invited to decorate a flowerpot and plant a sunflower to take home in the library’s parking lot. Each child also received a free book and a packet of seeds to plant at home.

Dozens of children and families celebrated the event.
