Four Brooklyn residents were arrested in Valley Stream on Sunday, June 13 at 3:28 p.m. in connection with robbery and assault charges at Walmart, police said.
According to 5th Precinct detectives, Sada Stricklin, 25; Fantasia Hall, 23; Michelle Freeman, 28; and Shariel Stith, 27; were seen at the Walmart Grocery Express Self-Checkout located at 77 Green Aces Road, improperly scanning merchandise. When a security officer approached them, they packed the items and exited the store without making an attempt to pay, police said.
When confronted by a security officer, the defendants allegedly became angry and refused to comply. Before fleeing the store, two of the defendants punched the security officer in the face, according to police.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after being notified of the incident and the four defendants were taken into custody. The security officer suffered pain and swelling and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, said police.
Stricklin and Hall have both been charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree assault. Freeman and Stith have been charged with second-degree robbery. All four defendants will be arraigned on June 14 in Mineola.
