Dr. Anna Hunderfund, who has been the superintendent for the Locust Valley School District since 2008, was placed on paid administrative leave on Tuesday, a unanimous decision by the district’s Board of Education after an executive session on Jan. 18. One member was absent for the vote, but it was not clear who that was.

According to a statement issued by the district, no other information was available because the decision was a “confidential personnel action.”

Hunderfund said in a brief phone call that she had been advised by her attorney not to share any information.

She earns an annual salary of $385,297.

The board appointed Dr. Carl Bonuso, who retired as Hicksville’s superintendent last June 30. Bonuso served as interim superintendent in Hicksville in 2014-2015 before being appointed superintendent in 2015.

Locust Valley district officials did not disclose what his salary would be.
