Residents resoundingly approve of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District’s budget

The Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District’s budget of roughly $61.4 million passed on Tuesday with 445 residents voting “yes,” and 170 voting “no.”

Proposition 2, which asked residents to allow for use of funds from its Technology Capital Reserves for a technology upgrade not to exceed $225,475 also passed. And Proposition 3, which asked for the approval of projects that would include: replacing windows and for plastering at the high school and maintenance of the structures at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary and Vernon to be funded with Capital Reserve Funds not to exceed $250,000 also passed.

In an uncontested race for two seats on the school board, Norah Windhausen captured 398 votes and Michael Schindler, 382.

Residents approved of the public library budget with 481 voting in favor and 123 against.
