OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

Eligibility To enter, you must be at least 18 years of age. All photos must be taken locally on or after March 13^th 2010 through March 29th. The photo subject must be relevant the March 13^th/March 14^th storm.

How to Enter The sole form of entering the contest is through the LIHerald.com website. (Click here to upload a photograph and complete an entry form).

Number of Entries There is no limit to how many times you may enter the contest.  You may enter as often as you like.

Photo Formats Please submit your photo in JPEG formats.

Judging Entries will be judged by the lihearld.com staff.  All decisions made by the judges are final.

Winners Judges will select a winning photo. In addition, one or more honorable mention winners may be selected. Winners will be notified approximately 2-3 weeks after the contest deadline.  Winning photographs will be displayed on the LIHerald.com family of websites on a rotating basis.

Photo Subject Restrictions Photos must be appropriate for posting. Obscene, provocative or otherwise questionable content will not be considered.  RCI retains sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content. 

Photographer/Copyright Entries must be submitted by the original photographer. Please do not submit a photo taken by someone other than yourself. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. By submitting a complete entry, you guarantee that you are the sole author and copyright holder of the photo.  The photographer will retain copyright of the submitted content, though subject to the conditions of the “Ownership/Use Rights” set forth below.

Ownership/Use Rights Photographers retain the copyright to their photographs. By entering the contest, photographers agree to have their submitted content displayed on the LIHerald.com websites without any fee or other form of compensation, and they agree that RCI may display winning content both online and in print publications, at the sole discretion of  RCI. Photos will at all times be credited to the photographer named in the entry form.   Content will not be used by RCI in any manner for advertising or sale, and RCI does not have the right to provide the submitted content to companies not affiliated with RCI without the express written consent of the copyright owner.
