Hochul proposes statewide smartphone ban in schools

Gov. Kathy Hochul recently announced a proposal aimed at restricting smartphone use in New York’s public schools, prohibiting the use of smartphones and other internet-enabled devices during the entire school day, including in classrooms, lunch periods and study halls, the release said.
