Show support for Laura Ryder this March

To the Editor:

I have had the distinct privilege of knowing Laura Ledwith Ryder since our days growing up together in Lynbrook. I know of no finer person.

Imagine my enthusiasm when I learned that Laura was nominated and is running for Village of Lynbrook trustee in the March election. Not only is Ryder highly qualified for this position, having served the village in various positions for decades, she has the commitment to family and community that would serve us so well in representing our interests.

Ryder is one of the most impressive people I know. She has worked tirelessly in many volunteer positions in the village. She has her husband  of 27 years, Mike Ryder, by her side along, with their two wonderful children, Shannon, 26, and Aidan, 20.

She has worked in her family’s law firm for more than 25 years, and is also a licensed real estate professional. I am continuously impressed by her depth of knowledge with regard to our community and her commitment to Lynbrook. She would make a wonderful trustee.

Overjoyed about Laura Ryder running

To the Editor:

My neighbors and I were absolutely overjoyed when we discovered that Laura Ledwith Ryder is running for Lynbrook village trustee this March.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Laura for the last decade, and I know of no finer Lynbrook resident. She is an outstanding friend and neighbor who has received some of Lynbrook’s highest honors. She was the 2014 Lynbrook Woman of the Year as well as the 2018 Lynbrook Humanitarian of the Year. She works tirelessly for the Lynbrook Community Chest, co-founded the Lynbrook Community Cares Committee, chaired the Lynbrook 9/11 Memorial Committee, served as co-chair of the Lynbrook Oktoberfest Committee, currently serves on the Architectural Review Board and has been a Malverne School District Special Education PTA board member.

Perhaps even more impressive, she was named to the Nassau County Police Commissioners’ Community Council for our area. This is a highly selective council that works with the Nassau County Police Department on all issues affecting the county.

Without question, Laura will continue to serve the residents of the Village of Lynbrook with outstanding commitment and passion as a trustee.
