Police searching for man who robbed Rockville Centre bank

Nassau County police are searching for a man who robbed a TD Bank in Rockville Centre on May 1.

According to Robbery Squad detectives, Rockville Centre Police responded to the bank, at 290 Merrick Road after a robbery had just occurred at about 11:23 a.m.

Upon police arrival, a 37-year-old female bank manager reported that an unknown man approached her as she was working as a teller. He passed her a note that demanded cash. After she complied, the man put an undisclosed amount of cash into a white bag and walked out of the bank.

He was last observed travelling west on Merrick Road. There were no injuries reported or weapons displayed, according to police.

The man was described as Black or Hispanic, light skinned, about 5-feet 9 or 5-feet-10 with an average build, and about 50 to 60 years old. He was wearing a dark colored jacket, dark colored pants, a tan baseball cap and a light blue surgical mask.

The investigation is ongoing.
