The Tommy Brull Foundation is hosting a night of music on June 15, as local musicians will be playing favorite tunes by the Clash, the Rolling Stones and R.E.M.

The event, to be held at RJ Daniels — at 279A Sunrise Highway, in Rockville Centre — will last from 7 p.m. to midnight, and all proceeds will benefit Backyard Players & Friends and Mary Quinn’s Mark Foundation. There will be a $30 charge at the door, which will cover drink specials and food.

Backyard Players & Friends is a Rockville Centre-based local arts-based community program that caters to teens and young adults of all abilities. Mary Quinn’s Mark Foundation is named for Mary Quinn, a Floral Park girl who was actively involved in Backyard Players, and promotes inclusive education, recreation and social opportunities. Mary was born with Down syndrome, and died in 2015, at age 16.

The two organizations partnered with the Tommy Brull Foundation to help put on the first Ladybug Ball in March, which gave teenagers and adults of all ages and abilities the chance to eat, dance and spend time with friends in a semi-formal party atmosphere.

Martin Brull, who founded the foundation in 2008 in memory of his brother, Tommy, who died in an accident in 1999, at age 23, said the June 15 event will serve as a thank-you to Backyard Players and Mary Quinn’s Mark Foundation for their continued support.
