Beechwood homes coming to East Meadow in summer 2021

The Beechwood Organization, a Jericho-based real estate developer, is constructing two living communities in East Meadow at the former site of Temple Emanu-El on Merrick Avenue. First occupancy for both developments is anticipated for summer 2021 and preconstruction pricing starts anywhere from $475,000 and $675,000.

The project could generate over $1 million in annual property taxes for the school district and town.

The Meadowbrook Pointe Gardens is a 48-unit villa residence for all ages and the Meadowbrook Pointe East Meadow is a 104-unit condominium complex restricted to those 62 and older.

The temple, which merged with Temple B’Nai Torah in Wantagh, sold its 4.54-acre parcel to Beechwood roughly two years ago, in part because the synagogue was aging and in constant need of repairs. Now the developer is converting the space into two villa residences with a clubhouse, pool and pavilion.

"We are delighted to be a part of East Meadow in a new way,” said Michael Dubb, founder and chief executive officer of The Beechwood Organization, which built its first living community in East Meadow in 1985.

“Since then, we have been proud to keep many thousands of Long Islanders on Long Island in brand new homes near old friends and family,” Dubb said. “The Meadowbrook Pointe brand is important too. It set the standard for luxury condominium living on the Island now to be enjoyed in East Meadow.”

The homes in the Meadowbrook Pointe Gardens feature two bedrooms and two baths on a single level in open floor plans. Ground floor units are over 1,200 square-feet with a basement and patio. Upper floor units, including a loft area and private entrance foyer, are 1,670 to 1,708 square-feet with a balcony and optional elevator. The community is located on the 3.05-acre former site of Oberle's Florist & Greenhouses.

The homes in the Meadowbrook Pointe East feature two bedrooms and two baths ranging from 961 to 1,394 square-feet. Ground floor units also have a basement with the option to have it finished. Upper floor units have a loft, balcony and private elevator. Among the resort-style amenities are a clubhouse, heated pool, fitness center and bar and lounge. The community is at the site of the former Temple Emanu-El.

All homes will be built to signature Beechwood quality with designer finishes and energy efficient systems. Interiors are designed with chef style kitchens, nine-foot ceilings, walk-in closets and oversized windows. As condominium communities, owners have the benefit of maintenance-free living with snow removal, landscaping and refuse collection managed for them. Parking spaces are assigned with the opportunity to apply for additional spaces.

The Beechwood Organization has built more than 7,500 homes in 60 communities across the New York metropolitan area with new sites in development in Manhattan, Long Island and Saratoga. Brand names include Arverne by the Sea, Bishops Pond, Country Pointe, Harbor Pointe, Marina Pointe, Meadowbrook Pointe, Oak Ridge, The Latch and The Vanderbilt.
