Newly elected Town of Hempstead Supervisor Don Clavin announced his transition team at the Hofstra University Club on Monday.

The team, which is comprised of more than 50 people, is headed by U.S. Rep. Peter King and Hempstead Village Attorney Cherice Vanderhall, who will serve as co-chairs of the transition team.

“I look forward to having this array of individuals around me … to help guide me and make sure that we are focusing on every aspect of the Town of Hempstead and providing the residents with great results by working together,” Clavin said.

He added that he would focus on making changes to the town’s building department, zoning, road repairs and environmental programs. Clavin also mentioned that he would prioritize downtown areas, including the Nassau Hub.

“We all want to succeed for all the residents of the Town of Hempstead — from Elmont to Seaford, from Atlantic Beach to Umberto’s in New Hyde Park,” Clavin said. “This group of people is going to help accomplish that.”
