Glen Head Elementary School students spent much of their day picking out pumpkins and enjoying Halloween activities on Oct. 30. Upon arriving in the gymnasium, they took a seat in a makeshift hay bale amphitheater, where they listened to a virtual spooky story time from Mr. V, the Gold Coast Library’s children’s librarian.
The costume-clad students then roamed around the gym, meticulously picking out the perfect pumpkins to decorate and bring home for Halloween the next day. Although the event was originally planned to take place outside it had to be moved to the gymnasium due to bad weather. All of the teachers wore costumes that day and principal Dr. Peter Rufa, dressed as Woody from “Toy Story,” ensuring that children would have a safe and fun time getting ready for one of the most anticipated holidays of the year.
