Hempstead's Mary Brennan INN hosting curbside food drive Jan. 16

The Mary Brennan INN in Hempstead will host its next no-contact curbside food drive to collect the most needed items for guests of the soup kitchen.

The collection will take place Saturday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at the INN, at 100 Madison Ave. 

This is a safe, no-contact drive-through event. Donors will place donations on a table with masked volunteers standing at a distance. They will retrieve the food after the donor drives away.

Needed items include:
Canned meats
Canned tuna and salmon
Canned soup (flip-top cans)
Canned stews and chili
Canned vegetables
Canned fruit
Dry Soup
Peanut butter
Jelly (no glass)
Travel-size toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner)
Hot and cold cereals (oatmeal, Farina)
Rice
Powdered milk
Packaged pasta like macaroni & cheese
Canned beans
Baby food and cereal (glass jars accepted)
Baby formula (Enfamil/Similac)

The INN is not collecting clothing at this time.
