One person injured in three-vehicle accident in Inwood

An accident involving three vehicles at the intersection of Burnside Avenue and the Nassau Expressway in Inwood has caused one driver to go to the hospital.

The accident occurred going east at roughly 1 p.m. when a utility van was allegedly hit by another vehicle from behind. The utility van then crashed into the oil truck.

According to Nassau County Police officials, the driver of the utility van was sent to the hospital with "minor injuires" and the accident is not considered to be a "hazardous situation." Poilce added that the incident is under further investigation.

The Inwood and Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire Departments and EMS crews were on the scene of the collision and cleared the vehicles from the roadway. All lanes have been reopened.
