Surrounded by her family and friends, State Sen. Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick took the oath of office to begin her second two-year term serving the residents of the 9th Senate District.

Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick represents several Nassau County communities, including her native Malverne, Elmont, Franklin Square, Long Beach, the Five Towns and Valley Stream.

“Being sworn in for a second term is both a tremendous honor and a humbling responsibility,” Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick said in a news release. “I remain committed to continuing the fight for policies that uplift our residents, strengthen our communities, and address the challenges facing our region.”

As the legislative session begins, she said she remains focused on ensuring affordability for New Yorkers, supporting local schools and enhancing public safety.

“I will continue to be a voice for the hardworking residents of our district, putting their needs first and pushing for real solutions to the issues we face,” she said in the release. “We can make a real, tangible difference to create a stronger future for our community.”

Working alongside her colleagues and engaging with constituents to deliver meaningful results throughout the 2025 legislative session are two of the things she looks forward to, Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick added.
