East Rockaway High School Valedictorian Sheri Reichelson

A scholar, a thinker, a ‘Renaissance woman’

The valedictorian for the East Rockaway High School Class of 2012 is Sheri Reichelson. With a cumulative G.P.A. of 104.98 and recognition as a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student and AP Scholar, Sheri is an accomplished student who consistently has achieved at the highest academic level. As described by her Italian teacher, Frank Cuttitta, “She is an insightful scholar, a profound thinker, an articulate writer and speaker, and a passionate learner. She is our school’s best example of a Renaissance woman.”

Sheri has demonstrated leadership qualities throughout her years at East Rockaway High School. Offering direction to students entering high school. Her advice? “Make choices because of what you like and how you want to see yourself, not how you want others to perceive you. Live life as you want and you’ll find your true self.”

As president of the National Honor Society, and treasurer of the senior class, Student Council, Key Club and Students Against Destructive Decisions, Sheri has had an integral role in leading her peers in positive ways. She also is the secretary of the senior band and the student council representative to the Drug and Alcohol Advisory Committee.
