Baldwin Sani 2 workers named ‘Helpers of the Week’

State Sen. Todd Kaminsky has recently recognized local hard-working sanitation employees as “Helpers of the Week” for their work on the frontlines of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The workers from Sanitary District 2 in Baldwin, the CSEA Long Beach, Sanitation District 1, including the Five Towns and Valley Stream South and the Village of Valley Stream Sanitation Department held up signs to spell out the inspiring message “we will not quit,” solidifying their commitment to helping the community remain safe and secure during the pandemic.

“Our sanitation workers do not have the option of hunkering down and staying home, and we are grateful for their service, despite the weather, the circumstance, or even a pandemic,” Kaminsky said in a statement. “You are truly essential and thank you for being a key part of what makes us strong, resilient communities, and what defines New York Tough.”

Each week, Kaminsky highlights an exemplary 9th district neighbor who is going above and beyond to help communities deal with the coronavirus outbreak.
