The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s food pantry, the Community Cupboard, is open despite school closures caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
“We want to continue to spread the word that we are here for them, and also to the community that we are collecting donations,” said Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mara Bollettieri.
Residents can drop off donations in a container outside the Brookside building (1260 Meadowbrook Road, Merrick) Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and noon. District staffers Karin McMahon, Catrina Christensen and Darlene Boden are among the volunteers spearheading the effort.
Families in need can visit the district website at www.bellmore-merrick.k12.ny.us/ or call (516) 992-1073 for more information.
