Nassau County Police Department’s Homicide Squad arrested a Central Islip man on April 13 in connection to the death of a 19-year-old Freeport resident, whose body was found in Cow Meadow Park last month.

Detectives took Tulio Ayala, 42, into custody after a month long investigation in the case.

Detectives said the victim, Daniel Garcia-Carbajal, died from a gunshot wound. His body was found in Cow Meadow Park on March 4.

Ayala was charged with murder and conspiracy. He was arraigned on April 14, in Mineola.
