Crime watch: Rockville Centre

Fire

On May 31 at 4:15 p.m., a NICE bus traveling on North Centre Avenue caught fire. The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office determined that the cause was not suspicious.

Harassment

At 3:52 p.m., a Lakeview Avenue resident reported that she received harassing text messages from an unknown person.

Criminal mischief

A North Village Avenue building superintendent notified police that a group of juveniles intentionally damaged several exit signs in the building on June 3 at 10:03 p.m.

Larceny

On June 2 at 5:15 p.m., a Mercy Hospital employee reported that surgical instruments were stolen from a storage room.

Unusual incident

At 10:53 a.m. on June 2, a Southard Avenue resident notified police that someone transferred her phone’s SIM card information to an unknown phone.
